Meet the Founder

Dr. Regina Ransom, Ph.D.

“Real healing requires treating the whole person: mind, body, and the relationships that hold us.”

Dr. Ransom founded New Birth Family Counseling on the conviction that talk therapy alone is not always enough. Anxiety, trauma, and relationship strain live in the body as much as the mind, so her work brings both together: evidence-based therapy alongside a practical look at sleep, nutrition, stress, and the physical side of healing.

She holds two doctorates, a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Clinical Supervision and a Doctorate in Mind-Body Medicine, and brings experience across nursing, clinical and forensic psychology, addiction counseling, and psychiatric mental health. That range means clients do not have to split their care into pieces. She sees how it all connects.

As a U.S. Navy veteran, Dr. Ransom has a special place in her practice for service members, veterans, and military families. She is EMDR-Certified and also uses Brainspotting and somatic approaches, which let clients work through trauma without having to retell every detail. For couples, she leads Gottman-informed intensives that do the work of months of weekly sessions in a few focused days.
