Rooted Reserve
A private couples intensive, designed around one relationship. Yours.
Rooted Reserve is the most private, most personal work New Birth Family Counseling offers. For one couple, and one couple only, we set aside days inside a beautiful San Diego residence and build the whole of it around your relationship. No shared circles. No competing schedules. No rushing back to a fifty-minute clock.
Ordinary therapy gives you an hour a week to repair something that took years to strain. Rooted Reserve gives you concentrated time, real privacy, and a doctoral clinician at the center of it, so the work can go where an hour never lets it. The luxury around it, the residence, the chef, the restorative care, exists to do one thing: hold you both so completely that you can put your attention where it belongs, on each other.
This is not a couples retreat with therapy added. Every session, every meal, every ritual, and every quiet moment is designed around one relationship. Yours.
What your days hold
We will tell you what you are investing in. We will not spoil every beautiful detail. Some of what makes Rooted Reserve what it is should arrive as discovery, not itinerary. Here is the shape of it.
A residence prepared for you
You arrive to a home readied before you walk in, not a waiting room. A private San Diego residence with room to breathe, indoors and out. Personalized robes and slippers, curated welcome amenities, and thoughtful touches gathered from what we learn about you beforehand. The details are handled so you never have to plan, coordinate, or manage a thing.
Extended, evidence-based repair
Multiple days of concentrated couples therapy led by a doctoral clinician, drawing on the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy alongside trauma-informed and mind-body work. It moves through our four-stage Rooted Method, and includes a signature nervous-system reset so you both understand how your bodies, not only your words, shape conflict and connection.
Cared for, not just counseled
A private chef prepares your meals so nothing pulls you out of the experience, including The Reconnection Table, a chef-prepared dinner where guided prompts carry you gently from remembering, to repair, to what you are building next. Restorative bodywork, private partner movement, and a sound experience are woven in where they belong, always by consent, always for regulation rather than performance.
A meaningful close, and something to carry
Your time ends with a private coastal closing on the San Diego shore, a therapeutic transition rather than a vow renewal, marking the passage from the work back into daily life. You leave with a keepsake box and a natural, editorial portrait of the two of you, and in time a finished heirloom edition of Our Next Chapter, your own relationship book.
Ninety days of integration
Breakthrough is only half of it. Rooted Reserve continues once you are home and the old stresses return, with integration sessions and a personalized maintenance plan for conflict, repair, emotional safety, and recognizing the moment familiar patterns try to come back.
The Rooted Method
Four movements carry the clinical work from understanding to lasting change.
Foundation
We map the relationship story, the attachment needs beneath it, and the conflict pattern that keeps repeating, so you both see what lives underneath the argument.
Repair
We turn toward the injuries, the resentment, the ruptures and unmet needs, and rebuild accountability and emotional safety between you.
Rebuild
We create new agreements, healthier ways of connecting, renewed friendship and intimacy, and a clearer shared vision for what comes next.
Stabilization
We build the plan that protects the progress: your warning signs, your repair strategies, your connection rituals, and a personalized 30, 60, and 90 day path.
Breakthrough matters. What happens after the breakthrough matters just as much. The Rooted Reserve promise
Honest about what this is
Rooted Reserve does not promise to save a marriage or guarantee reconciliation. No ethical clinician can. What we can promise is the time, the professional support, the environment, and the structure for deeper understanding, meaningful repair, real clarity, and healthier patterns, so that whatever you decide next, you decide it from a stronger and more honest place.
It is a private clinical experience first. The beauty around it is real, and it is in service of the work, never a substitute for it.
What Couples Are Saying
Dr. Gina made our experience one that we will never forget. When we signed up, we were sure we were headed for divorce, but we ended our intensive with a totally new life and view of our relationship.
I did not think an intensive could really help an affair, but Dr. Gina, while very direct and saying the hard things we needed to hear was not fun, but we value her so much and how she opened our eyes to what was really happening, she has a true gift.
This experience was mind blowing to say the least, I got so much clarity and I am forever thankful to Dr. Gina and the team at New Birth Family Counseling.
Individual experiences vary. Testimonials reflect individual client experiences and are not a guarantee of specific outcomes.
$13,900
For one couple. The residence, the private chef, the clinical days, the restorative care, the rituals, the keepsakes, and ninety days of integration, all included and all arranged for you.
How it begins
Rooted Reserve is not a checkout. It begins with a conversation, and a place is confirmed only when it is right for you.
Apply
Tell us a little about your relationship and what you are hoping for. This is a request, not a booking.
A private consultation
We speak with you to understand your goals and to make sure a private intensive is the right and safe fit. Some couples are better served another way, and we will tell you so.
Acceptance and reservation
Once accepted, a $3,900 reservation retainer secures your dates and begins the planning of your personalized experience. The balance is due thirty days before you arrive.
Your experience is designed
Both partners complete a confidential pre-arrival assessment, and a personalization questionnaire shapes the details around you. Your itinerary is built for your relationship, not pulled from a template.
Your days in San Diego
You arrive, and everything is ready. All you carry is each other.
Ninety days of integration
We stay with you as you bring the work home.
A doctor at the center of it
Rooted Reserve is led by Dr. Regina Ransom, founder and clinical director of New Birth Family Counseling. Her approach blends the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, trauma-informed care, and holistic mind-body medicine, the same integrative philosophy New Birth is known for, brought to a single couple in a private setting.
She has been married for thirty-three years, has raised six children, and served in the U.S. Navy before her clinical career. She built Rooted Reserve as the experience she would want for a marriage worth protecting: private, deeply personal, and held by someone who has done the long work herself.
Questions couples ask
Is this therapy or a getaway?+
It is therapy, delivered privately and immersively. The residence, the meals, and the restorative care are real luxuries, and they exist to support serious clinical work, not to replace it. You are a couple in care here, not guests on vacation.
Who is Rooted Reserve for, and who is it not for?+
It is for couples who want deep, concentrated repair or renewal in complete privacy and are ready to invest in it. It is not the right level of care for every situation. During your consultation we make sure a private intensive is appropriate and safe, and if another form of support would serve you better, we will say so.
How private is it, really?+
Entirely. One couple at a time, in a private residence. There are no other couples, no group sessions, and no shared spaces with strangers. The experience is built around your relationship alone.
What is included in the $13,900?+
Your private residence stay, a private chef for your meals, the clinical intensive across multiple days, restorative wellness experiences, your signature rituals and keepsakes, and ninety days of integration support afterward. Everything is arranged for you. We keep some of the details a surprise on purpose.
How do we begin, and what is the retainer?+
Begin by requesting an invitation. After a consultation and acceptance, a $3,900 reservation retainer holds your dates and starts the planning of your experience, with the balance due thirty days before arrival. Because we commit a residence, a chef, and made-to-order details on your behalf, the retainer is non-refundable.
Do you guarantee our marriage will be saved?+
No. Anyone who promises that is not being honest with you. We guarantee the time, the expertise, and the environment to do the deepest possible work, so that whatever you choose next, you choose it with more understanding and more clarity than you have now.
Spend a little time with Dr. Ransom before you arrive.
Each week on A Deeper Us, Dr. Regina Ransom talks honestly about trust, repair, and what it takes for two people to find their way back to each other.
What you leave with
Couples rarely choose Rooted Reserve for the house. They choose it for what they carry home.
An honest answer to the hardest question
Whether and how you build forward together, reached side by side with a doctor's guidance instead of alone at two in the morning.
The wound under the arguments, named and tended
Most couples arrive fighting about the same thing they have fought about for years. You leave understanding what it was really about, and how to stop reopening it.
A written path home
A personalized aftercare plan built from your days together, with the warning signs to watch for, the repair steps that work for the two of you, and ninety days of support as you bring it home.
Put it in perspective
What it costs to stay stuck
Couples often pause at the investment. It helps to see what it sits beside.
A divorce
Legal fees that commonly reach tens of thousands of dollars for each spouse, before a home, a retirement, and every holiday with the children are divided.
A year of weekly therapy
A similar investment, fifty minutes at a time, in a waiting room, with a week of life happening between every breakthrough.
Other private retreats
Private couples retreats in San Diego commonly run near $15,000, and many are coaching rather than clinical care.
Rooted Reserve
Doctor-led clinical couples care. A private residence, a private chef, restoration, and ninety days of integration. One couple at a time.
Flexible payments. Reserve with $3,900, then four payments of $2,500 (or two of $5,000), completed thirty days before you arrive.
